‘Pas van die Dood’ 

Die berugte Rohtang Pass (vertaal as ‘opgestapelde lyke’) is die eerste uitdaging van die ouens se adventure. Hulle trek weg uit die dorpie Manali, durf Rohtang (3978m bo seëspiel) aan met alle mag, en oornag in Tandi. Die dorpie lê in die Spiti Valley aan die anderkant van die berg.


‘Pass of the Dead’

The journey of the guys commences in the town of Manali, where they embark on an adventure. Their first challenge is conquering the treacherous Rohtang Pass, which is famously known as the 'Pile of corpses'. This perilous pass stands at an altitude of 3978m. They find accommodation for the night in Tandi, a village situated in the picturesque Spiti Valley.

Vlaktes van Sarchu’

In ligte luim trek die ouens weg by Drilbu Retreat, Tandi. Dis die werlkiliheid van die koue, die reën, die bergstrome, die sneeu en die altitude van 4850m wat die ouens laat besef hierdie avontuur is geen grap nie!


‘The Plains of Sarchu’

Leaving Drilbu Retreat in Tandi with a cheerful demeanor, the group soon comes to understand that this expedition is far from being a lighthearted affair. The frigid temperatures, constant rain, challenging water crossings, snowy terrain, and the daunting altitude of 4850m all become an unforgiving reality.

‘In ons eie ou wêreldjie’

Vroegoggend in die yskoue vlaktes van Sarchu trek die ouens weg. Taglang La (5328m) lê voor en daar is geen tyd om te mors nie. 270km (dertien ure se ry) van asemrowende skoonheid, ondraaglike weer, gebrek aan suurstof en 'n hewige sandstorm bring hulle uiteindelik aan by die stad Leh.


‘We live in our own little world’

Despite the freezing cold of Sarchu, the men are out on their bikes in the early morning, understanding the urgency of their mission. With a treacherous and painfully exhausting 270km road ahead, time is of the essence. Enduring gruelling temperatures, scarce oxygen at an altitude of 5328m, and even a sandstorm, it takes them thirteen hours before they finally arrive at the city of Leh.

Rus & Fix’

In Leh is die ouens lui. Hulle sien nie veel van die stad nie, maar ontdek ’n Suid-Afrikaanse coffe shop. Dan besef hulle die motorfietse het aandag nodig en gaan soek Mr. Sharma se mechanic shop.


‘Rest & Fix’

On the initial day in Leh, the group takes it easy and shows little interest in exploring the city's offerings. However, they stumble upon a coffee shop from South Africa and soon become aware of certain bike problems that require their attention.

‘Die Lamayuru Spektakel’

Die ouens klim weer op die bikes en ry Lamayuru toe. Hulle wil sien wat gaan aan by ’n Buddistiese fees wat jaarliks daar gehou word.

With the intention of taking part in a highly esteemed Buddhist festival, the group sets off on a journey towards the village of Lamayuru.

‘Drie Idiote’

Pangong Lake is ’n meer op die grens van Indië, China en Tibet. Die kleur van die water verander soos die dag verloop. Die pad soontoe en terug draai weer by 5360 meter bo seespieël en die hele roete is vol allerlei voorvalle en ervaringe. Die ouens voel heel tuis by die ‘Three Idiots Restaurant & Night Stay’.


Three Idiots’

Pangong Lake is a beautiful destination located at the border of India, China, and Tibet. The lake's captivating beauty is enhanced by the changing colors of its water throughout the day. To reach the lake, the guys have to navigate a road that takes them to a high altitude of 5360m. Along the way, they can encounter various interesting experiences, including stumbling upon the 'Three Idiots Restaurant & Night Stay' which offers a warm welcome.

‘Uitsig oor die Stad’

Teen die hange van die berge rondom Leh, sit die Royal Palace. Die uitsig oor die stad is besonders van daar. Maar, die strate en die mense van die stad is ’n belewenis — ’n mengsel van gelowe, argitekture, kulture en eras.

The Royal Palace, located on a mountain, offers stunning views of Leh city. It provides a unique and awe-inspiring perspective. Descending from the palace, the streets below showcase a diverse and harmonious blend of religions, architectural styles, cultures, and historical periods.

‘Twee Riviere’

Die avontuur staan einde se kant toe, maar die ouens moet eers Noord ry in die rigting van die grens van Pakistan. Hulle pak Khardung La ('The highest motorable pass in the world') aan teen 5602m bo seëvlak. Die Nubra Valley is waar twee vername riviere bymekaar kom — die uitsig slaan mens se asem weg, maar dit wek ongekende gevoelens in mens se binneste…


‘Two Rivers’

The journey is coming to a close as the guys head north towards Pakistan. They make an ambitious attempt at conquering Khardung La, known as the highest motorable pass on Earth, situated at an impressive altitude of 5602m. The breathtaking landscapes of the Nubra Valley, where two mighty rivers meet, evoke intense and unforeseen emotions.
