I sing evocative songs...
...and if you cannot attend any of my performances, you can book me for a private event.
I have vivid memories of my mother mentioning that even at the tender age of one, I used to wake up
the entire household with my singing in the mornings.
To me, music holds a sacred essence. It possesses a remarkable capacity to shape and transform the world.
Music has the incredible ability to alter one's emotions and mood. It communicates a powerful message, whether accompanied
by lyrics or not, resonating deeply with the soul and spirit.
Despite having recorded several albums, I primarily identify as a live performer. I have naturally become accustomed to feeling comfortable and at ease when performing with my acoustic guitar. Whether it be in intimate lounge
settings, grand theatre stages, or even vast arenas, I find solace in delivering something special through my singing.
My motivation for songwriting stems from a desire to express myself, while I also derive joy from singing other artists' songs that deeply resonate with my soul or spirit. Rather than merely covering these songs, I strive to infuse them with my own personal touch and offer my unique interpretation to audiences.
Bethe1
After completing a music school in the USA, I went on to record this album in 1999. I perceive this album to be somewhat prophetic, as it encompasses songs that explore truths which I may not have fully comprehended during their creation.
Ek kan nie dans nie
My family suggested that I record an album in Afrikaans, my native language. I began writing songs, but my inspiration primarily stemmed from my unfortunate romantic experiences. Realising that I needed to release these emotions, I decided to write and record these songs.
Stage
Performing my own renditions of songs in front of an audience is the place where I truly belong. I consider myself lucky to have incredibly talented friends who are musicians. Whether we are a five-piece band, a duo, or if I am simply performing alone, I have an immense passion for it!
